If you are having a problem with MatterControl that is not fixed by re-installing, you may need to delete some of the data that MatterControl saves on your computer.

Here is a procedure to follow:

  1. Go to the folder where MatterControl saves its user data
    1. Windows: C:\Users\{user}\AppData\Local\MatterControl
      1. The 'AppData' folder is often hidden but you can type it into the navigation bar after navigating to user -> your user name
    2. Mac: Macintosh HD -> Users -> {user} -> .loca -> share -> MatterControl
  2. Backup the MatterControl.db file then rename or delete it.
    1. This will delete all your settings and printer profiles but should get MatterControl back to a state where it can run again.
  3. Check if you can run MatterControl again. It it is still not working.
  4. Rename or delete the entire MatterControl folder.
    1. This will get you back to a fresh install state

If you do not have sensitive data in MatterControl, sending the MatterControl.db or a zip of the MatterControl folder to support@matterhackers.com can help us track down bugs and is appreciated.
